San Francisco Wedding: From The Mark Hopkins to The Olympic Club

November 27, 2024

Mallory + Peter

Mallory and Peter’s wedding day went from the Marks Hopkins Intercontinental to The Olympic Club Golf Course with a ceremonial stop at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral. I loved getting to know these cuties throughout their journey with me as their wedding photographer. Peter and Mallory met in college! They met through class and mutual friends. After some karaoke and beer, they started to hang out more and the rest is history! They’ve been dating for 11 years before their San Francisco wedding day! On

One of the things that Mallory loves is old architecture. So naturally, she chose some of the most beautiful historical sites in San Francisco to plan out her elegant wedding day! Before becoming a wedding photographer I used to take photos of architectural buildings and their details. Let’s start with them getting ready at The Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco!

Ceremony at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in San Francisco

Saints Peter and Paul Church, located in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood, is a stunning example of Roman Catholic architecture and a cultural landmark. The church was originally built in 1884 but was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and fire. The current structure was completed in 1924 and became an integral part of the Italian-American community.

Mallory and Peter’s ceremony was a grand showcase! Especially seeing Mallory come down the aisle from the balcony of the church! Getting to the balcony was no easy task, but was worth all the photos. Mallory’s vail had the most beautiful flow down the staircase! Leaving the church they gathered into a fun trolly with their entire wedding party to head over to The Olympic Club.

The Olympic Club Golf Course in San Francisco

The Olympic Club in San Francisco is one of the oldest and most prestigious private athletic clubs in the United States, established in 1860. The Lakeside Clubhouse is famous for its golf courses, including three championship-level courses. It’s prestigious wedding venue has many room including The Garden Court. This room is an indoor patio with a glass ceiling, accommodating up to 150 guests and featuring a hardwood dance floor perfect for ceremonies and receptions. With it’s rich history this was the perfect venue for Mallory and Peter to finish out their wedding day!

Not only is golden hour amazing on the golf corse with the ocean in the background, but the views of the city lights embedded in the hills as night falls is great for the guests!
