Monterey weddings are some of the best! We get the beach, the fog, the sun, you honestly don’t know what you’re going to get. Since it’s a California coastal town on the central coast, it’s weather is similar to San Francisco! The fall is usually warmer and sunnier, the spring and summer can be filled with fog and cool.

Linda + Matt:

Linda and Matt had a summer wedding and desiring a sunny day! I informed them it might be foggy, but they wanted bright blue ocean water for their first look on the beach, and I honestly crossed my fingers hard for their dreams to happen. And this day had every moment of everything they wanted for the day to be magical!

They started off their day be getting ready at Hyatt Regency in Monterey, which is always so lovely when couples get ready near each other or in an Airbnb. Linda and Matt met the old-fashioned way….online! Matt was intrigued by the self-proclaimed ‘reformed lawyer’ and her radiant smile. Linda in turn found herself drawn to Matt’s quick wit and uncanny ability to make her laugh. Discovery of a shared mutual friendship sealed the deal and they set their first date during San Francisco’s famous fleet week.

After Linda overcame her initial shock at their considerable height difference on date 1 and again at Matt’s enormous dog on date 2, they found they had a lot in common and quickly built chemistry and connection over dinners, comedy shows, and a tragic/triumphant 41-11 Cal victory over Stanford in the Big Game. Matt may have lost the game, but he was quickly winning Linda’s heart!

While Linda and Matt had the most perfect first look more privately at the beach we quickly headed over to The Barns Cooper Molera where their wedding party and immediate family awaited them! As a wedding photographer, The Barns is so beautiful to shoot a wedding at. The lighting is dreamy, the barn magical, and the garden stunning for portraits! When my couples get married here, we hardly leave for portraits because it’s just that good!

Linda and Matt had so many special touches during their ceremony. From a collage of portraits of the two of them, a reserved seat for Linda’s father who has passed, to a sand blending. The sun kept shining on this couple!
